Bring on the Fun! 8 Employee-Approved Activities
By Welltok Marketing
With office perks and happy hours on hiatus in 2020, many HR and comms teams were searching for ways to keep things lively and engaging for employees. Since we are all in the same virtual boat, we’ve compiled a list of the activities we’ve hosted to keep connected and have a little fun too:
Get the whole company involved.
In-person gatherings may be cancelled for now, but that doesn’t mean the fun is too! Instead of a traditional holiday party, Welltok hosted a comedy show for our 2020 Holiday Party with comedian Rich Aronovitch as seen on The Tonight Show, Last Comic Standing and more.
Make time for what matters.
We 'walk the talk' here at Welltok and have leaned on our certified wellbeing coaches for additional support. Our specialists have led guided meditations and cooking classes, and we plan to learn from their health expertise throughout 2021. Enjoy this 5 minute meditation with Coach Paulette Fara that we scheduled on employees' calendars to provide a mental health moment.
Welcome family and fun.
We recognize that parenting, schooling and working from home all at once is overwhelming. We gave our working parents a break and flipped the script with a meeting made FOR kids. Our virtual princess party brought a little bit of magic to everyone's day! Email firstname.lastname@example.org if interested.
Get those creative juices flowing.
Another way to engage your employees is through artistic expression. Small group events like virtual painting parties are a great way to build team camaraderie and get some new wall art like below. Visit Wine and Design to book your online painting fun.
Bring in the experts.
Dr. Dan Diamond led our employees in the "Unstoppable!" experience, which focuses on creating new mindsets and being stronger together. Our team gave Dr. Dan’s session a striking 9 out 10 rating and genuinely enjoyed the small, intimate interaction with their peers.
Check out “Unstoppable! Coming Together to Make a Difference When it Matters Most!” with Dr. Dan to learn how you can help your employees get to know one another better and work together more effectively.
We hosted a half educational and half brain break webinar to mix things up. Our special guest Happy Birds put on an interactive bird show that was fun for the whole flock. Where else can you see a parrot ride a scooter?
To foster a sense of community, we’ve encouraged our employees to participate in causes that matter most to them. We closed our offices on Juneteenth this year as a “Day of Involvement” to allow our people the opportunity to get involved in impactful ways. We also hosted a virtual food drive to kick off the season of giving.
You've got snail mail!
Like many companies, we became a remote workforce overnight. To provide a small token of appreciation and help avoid those early morning "bed head" webcam fails we sent a postcard with a branded webcam slider.
